Head on a Silver Plate

So I’ve come to the end of the road and it all
You’ve taken my freedom because of your fears
And I’ve called you a coward in front of your peers
Now I’m caught in between your hate and your fear
I know it can’t last, I won’t live through the year

For I’ll give you my head
on a silver plate
When your lust for the feast
reveals for your heart it’s too late
You will have your brother’s wife
And ruin me in the night
in the night

All this new world is growing darker for me
We’ve quarreled again for the last time, I know
The fear in your dark eyes can’t hide and it shows
In flurries of hatred fear flies from you lips
And this journey you’re on’s just a sinkin’ ship

So I’ll give you my head
on a silver plate
And I’ll pray to our God
That it’s not all too late
You can take this broken life
If you move to light from night
From this night

So weary I’ve grown in these last steps to the grave
The God I have loved will remember my name
But your city will crumble if you don’t realize
I’ve come before the one who can open your eyes
Can you turn to the King you’ll always despise?

But I’ll give you my head
on a silver plate
and I’ll pray to our God
for a different fate
You can take this broken man
If you move to day from night
From this night

I’ll give you my head
If you move to day from night
